What a week

We moved house on Saturday (big thanks to everyone for helping). On Sunday, I played for both morning services, Phill cleaned Lewis St, and then we set up for the Wild West Murder Mystery Dinner Party at the Next Level (KBC young adults). Monday saw the start of the Uni semester (I'm tutoring 2 units). Wednesday we had home group at our house and tonight we are picking up Mum and Dad Okely from the train as they are visiting for the long weekend.

Thankfully our phone and internet were fine, nothing was broken in the move and things are slowly getting unpacked. I'm so looking forward to the last room being carpeted as it is our study and my craft/sewing area also.

Hope you all are going well.

Love Melissa

Moving Day approaches

After being spoilt with roses and dinner at the Palace on Valentine's day, we are back to reality with lots packing and moving boxes. The weather has been very very rainy since Monday afternoon and it feels like winter! We've had 17mm already today! All of our big furniture is being moved on Saturday thanks to our friends :) Now if only this rain will stop in time...
On Sunday night we are doing How to Host a Murder - The Good, the Bad and the Guilty, at church with our young adults. We are all getting into the spirit of the Wild West theme and Kristen and I have painted 3 big panels to help with the theming and no doubt I'll upload some photos after the event.

2008 so far

We were blessed to be able to have John and Caitlin over for a week in January. Thankfully we caught the train and weren't affected by the big fire, apart from having to have Red Rooster for dinner as the shelves were empty at Coles! We saw the sights of the town (that weren't closed for the holidays!) including Grandma Kerr and Great-grandma Okely's homes. We ripped up the carpet in the new house and washed all the ceilings and walls with sugar soap.

Then came the painting, we've been at it off and on for about a month now, but the end is well and truly in sight, and the house is looking gorgeous!

Lauren can to visit at the end of January and successfully panned for gold at the Hall of Fame and we appreciated her help with the painting. We took the train back to Perth to pick up our long lost Camry from Merredin and drove to Perth for Nathan and Anita's wedding.

February has started well - we just got an offer on our first home, we are just praying it all goes smoothly.
