December Down Under Day 19

Today we did 2 Truth in the Tinsel ornaments (peg dolls of Mary and Joseph) while Edward slept
We got our dishwasher fixed YAY!
Edward was keen to watch while eating lunch

Edward and I played outside and cooked tea (well I cooked EJ ate 80% of a banana) while Emily slept.

We also had our photo canvases arrive how exciting!

I’m just writing on my foundation pages and will be ordering prints later in the month and assembling it all together later. My secret weapon? Tags in kraft and white for my journalling and washi tape so I can move it all around. Thanks to Simple Scrapper for the kit!
I’m also cutting my December Daily word art on the Cameo and adding that in.

Missed the boat with Christmas cards? Here's a unique opportunity for you!

Here is a chance for you to stand out.

Everyone sends Christmas cards it seems. And they end up either piled up, lined up, or magnetized to the fridge with the countless other cards. None of them stand out.

But New Year's cards...those are unique, like you.

So why not send out some personalized New Year's wishes soon after Christmas is over? The type of card that everyone remembers and compliments you on. The type of card that you can only get from Tiny Prints.

Tiny Prints has over 250 designs to choose from, so you are sure to find one that is perfect for you. Then you can customize them by adding pictures, changing the font and text, and adding special features like rounded edges and matching address labels.

If you want to get the cheapest delivery, you need to order them soon (like today) so that you get them just after Christmas. That gives you plenty of time to write in them, address them, and get them to your best buddies just after New Year's Day.

Trust me, these cards won't get piled up or lined up. They'll be in a class all by themselves.

Ordering couldn't be easier.  I've even created a video to show you how to do it!

1. Visit Tiny Prints and choose from their 250+ New Year's card designs.
2. Once you have selected your favorite design, customize the card by adding pictures and changing the font and text to your liking.
3. Place your order (if you order today, be sure to use promo code DEC20SW to get 15+% off and code HOLFS to get free shipping off orders of $49 or more).

Your cards will arrive in 7-10 business days in the US (faster with their speedier shipping options).

That's it. Ring in the New Year in a wonderful way and stand out!

December Down Under: Day 16 & 17

Saturday was swimming, sorting and working around the house.
Sunday was filled to the bring with celebrations. We started with Church family day and Emily's first 'on stage' appearance as a star. Then we had family around to celebrate Phill's birthday (ice cream cake!) and then headed down to Heathridge Carols.

I've even chosen the stickers + word art I want to add to each page, but the photos aren't printed yet.

Created with Admarket's flickrSLiDR.

I'm upgrading to Windows 8 today, so once that's done I will set to work uploading my photos so that come the end of the month I can order them and finish off the album. I'm feeling pretty happy with the process so far :)

Card-a-palooza

Taking a break from December Daily to share a little card making.

This year I’ve loved following Kristina Werner and I love her style – hence the glittered dashed lines and rounded corners below.

Over the past couple of months I’ve made about 170 Christmas card kits (about 70 cards), 10 or so birthday cards and then at craft group I put together 6 baby congratulation cards.

December Down Under: Day 13

IMG_2805A few last minute birthday preparations for Phill’s 31st + craft + chasing a lost teddy + chiro + dead dishwasher = Exhausted!

Edward is loving the healthy mini Christmas cakes from Baby Tastes and is now sitting up so well.

I managed to make 90% of 4 cards at craft and get there about 45mins after I remembered about it! lol

I’ve been struggling with the days, and it doesn’t help that my old Outlook daylight savings birthdays are still in my new phone to scare me that I’ve missed a birthday. I just need to tell my brain to hit reset. Getting used to having full night’s sleep again isn’t as easy as one might think!

December Down Under: Day 10

IMG_2740My last workshop for the year was today. Emily and Edward loved spending time with Aunty Lauren who’s on study leave right now. Edward LOVES it when I ‘read’ him Teddy bear, Teddy bear and pat him on the tummmy at bedtime (‘cause he’s just like Emily). He is also loving his blue teddy (Thanks Aunty Leanne) and is keen to hold it at bed time.

I rounded out the day with some Pilates (in a very hot studio!)

December Down Under: Day 9

A lovely Sunday

  • Church
  • Iced coffee + BALT sandwich
  • Quiet afternoon
  • Evening out at Steve’s house (Emily was totally excited to go!

The only low point was Edward’s teething, he’s really suffering with these top two teeth.

December Down Under: Day 8

Emily loving reading her new advent book
Each morning she checks with me if it’s time to open a new door on the advent calendar. Today her reaction to my handdrawn picture of baby Jesus was priceless. “Aww” she said.
So much laughter over Emily’s new dance style.
So much folding of the washing I did on Friday
Phill finishing up the skirting boards (oh and lacerating his thumb)
A little cooking and a little work (30mins to be precise!)

December Down Under: Day 7

IMG_2744Rediscovering old toys (and reindeer!)

A little bit of washing

A little bubble blowing

A little present wrapping

A few parcels arriving for some gifts

More creating – Christmas cards.

I went to the shops for the first time in weeks this evening to pick up some photos and it was DEAD - most of the shops closed at 5pm still. And it's Christmas shopping season? What is happening?

But I was excited to put together my first few pages for this album

December Down Under: Day 6

Organising my brain with Workflowy

Listening to Christmas Carols (go Whitties)

2012-12-06 09.29.50Buying a gumball for Emily – who has wanted one for a while, but I never had a 20c coin. A couple of weeks back she decided to ask me if she could get a 20c coin from our change jar, and then she popped it in my handbag so next time we were at IGA she could have one. Finally, today when we headed to post some Christmas cards and buy some more stamps, Emily said “Can you smell that mummy? I can smell gumballs!” (Strange considering there’s a patisserie and bakery between the letter box and the IGA!) 2012-12-06 12.17.01

We also had a lovely morning tea with Grandma S who brought along an angel costume (among other things!) for Emily. She certainly looked angelic with her golden curls. We all had to be characters in the Christmas story with Emily as the Angel, Mummy as Joseph and Grandmas as Mary. (Edward was asleep, so we had a pretend baby Jesus!)

Eating our Omega 3s (thanks to Woodvale Fish Supply! Love fish and chips!)

Waiting for Phill to arrive, then realising he was on the early flight (YAY!)

December Down Under: Day 4

IMG_1684Today we did a little Truth in the Tinsel, a lot of card making and generally has a quiet day activity wise. But we did pick up our newly edged carpet playmat.

Emily: Edward would you like teddy? (Tiny teddy)
Mummy: They are too small for him
Emily: Gives him a milk arrrowroot instead! Which I only discovered after finding the halft eaten on in his chubby hands!

Edward finds it hard to understand he must take one thing out of his mouth to put the other thing in
Edward is getting up onto his knees LOTS now, enjoys dropping toys from his highchair and tossing them about on the floor, but sitting not so much.

December Down Under: Day 3

IMG_1675Emily was so excited to make the sheep ornament from Truth in the Tinsel.

I interviewed the author in a recent podcast – Amanda’s a delight!! (and 20% off the ebook is there too!)

Lots of organising going on while listening to Australia lose a test match. I was going through 3 years of memorabilia and boxing them all up, the study is almost in it’s new normal state.
