This week I tried some new food. OK not all new to me as I have had nougat before, and not all that healthy, but it was from Iraq. The nougat was choc full of macadamias and a lot less sugary than others I’ve tried. I was a fun morning tea with some tea. Thanks Phill!Other new to me experiences this week:
- Monopoly with Shanhun family rules. Who knew that when you only have the normal amount of houses, you have to wait for others to upgrade to hotels before you can put houses on your property. We Okelys inherited I pile of houses from old Monopoly sets over the years, so we always had plenty. Also, another ‘normal’ rule I didn’t know was going the whole way around the board before buying.
- Making my own iced tea.
- Playing Rat-a-tat-cat, a card game. As it turns out it’s basically like a game called Kings that my Grandma taught us.

We love to play Rat-a-tat Cat! Fun :)
ReplyDeleteHaha, I love that you had revised Monopoly rules. It seems like everyone plays differently. I remember when I first found out that some people don't buy until they've gone one time around the board - I thought they were messing with me.
ReplyDeleteThat's an impressive list of New for one week! Go you!
That looks like a month of new things! Isn't is annoying when we discover that there's a rule we didn't know that disadvantages us!
ReplyDeleteMy motto for 2011 is "it is ok to be uncomfortable" and it inspiring me to dress in new ways, exercise harder & in different types of weather, to have difficult conversations and to try new things. And it is turning me into more of an optimist! Yay! We will have to try something new together when I am in Perth!
ReplyDeleteI'll be looking forward to it! :)
ReplyDeleteWOA--talk about starting off with a bang! I'm intrigued by that card game and I agree--Monopoly rules!!! :D
ReplyDeleteHeck, you did lots of new things this week. I was lucky to find one or two. :)
ReplyDeleteI wish I had time to join you and follow this....I facebook/tweeted it.
