Tindals Cres Album: Digital Scrapbooking Inspiration

I'm just sharing a book I created in 2008-2009 about our renovations at our old house in Kalgoorlie.
These pages are filled with memories!

Some double-page layout inspiration for digital scrapbookers.

From the Creative forum discussion today :)

Do you do two-pagers? A LOT! About 1/2 of my pages are two pagers!
Do you primarily create two-pagers because you have too many photos for a single? Yes
If you used to do them, but have stopped, why? I do more spur of the moment pages lately or whole albums at a time with one kit and set of templates.
If you do them now, and have always done them, do you do more, or fewer than before? Less now - but I've done about 30 sets in the last 4 years!
For 8 1/2 x 11 scrappers, have you ever done horizontal two pagers? Or for that matter, do you ever turn your single page so it's designed horizontally?
I scrap mostly 12x12 12 but my 2009 Year in Review album is 8.5x11 horizontal format
Do you design your two-pagers as a single unit, or two separate pages with a similar look & theme? At first i did them seperately by thises days I'll often scrap them together.
Share your experiences posting two-pagers online... do you find it more difficult & hard to see? Have you discovered secrets for online sharing of your two-pagers? I tend to share them together, but yes they look tiny online. That's why I love Flickr! :) Bigger pictures.

Unexpected Arrival: Day 5 #weekinthelife

Emily and I got up and dressed ready for crafting fun. I had a webinar to go to and made fruit mince pies for the Christmas Craft Party.

Emily played quite well with the little on at Craft Group, and I got more scraps die cut for future project while chatting to friends.

When I got home I saw an email from Phill this sent morning to say he’s coming home early! He thought he’s be in my 9pm. YAY! I cleaned the house and downloaded the photos before Emily woke from her sleep.

Mum and Dad S and Skib came over for tea – Thai from the local. Emily had fun playing with them and I tried to trick Skib’s new phone’s swype – on Supercalifragilistic could confuse it. Cool phone!what is swype?

I also got my first rubber stamp (Hero arts!) all the way from the US from Skib Smile Thanks!

Phill was a little later than expected due to the storms we’ve been having in Perth. In the end the pilot had to circle Perth airport for an hour, but he eventually got home around 11pm. (No photo – I didn’t think he’d appreciate it!)

An Unexpected Call: Day 4 #weekinthelife

What a day! A quick summary:

  • Doctors to get on cancellation list
  • Woollies (including playing on the fire engine
  • Playgroup (Emily used the chalk with her left hand the whole time!)
  • Working on One Little Word book
  • Playdough dinosaurs
  • Washing out and back in before the storm
  • Writing several articles
  • Finishing and uploading a scrapbook album

Today we were so excited to find out that Phill had internet access at the mine site and Emily was thrilled to see him on Skype! Phill gets back on Friday, so it will be great to see him then.

Week in the Life: Day 3 #weekinthelife

Emily stayed with the Okely’s while I was off to the dentist this morning. I’ve been going to that same dentist since I had teeth! Well the dentist has changed, as the one who treated the older two Kerr generations had retired. But it’s the same location.

I love that we have HBF so it only cost me about $20 to go. When Emily and I got home Phill was already there and we had a very early lunch. Emily was coughing in her sleep so I phoned a couple of Doctors to see if I could get her in.

Emily woke up at about 1:40 so we headed to the airport early. We were very happy to see that the new check-ins were working perfectly, with just a couple of swipes of the Q card. We ate a few snacks in the Qantas lounge and Emily was really enjoying watching the planes, but we decided to leave before Daddy boarded so that we wouldn’t be too long stuck in traffic. My shining moment of the day was snagging a couple of pieces of pizza straight out of the oven for Phill to eat (thanks Qantas lounge, the food was awesome!).

Emily watched playschool then we had a small bit of leftover butter chicken for tea, as we’d eaten a big afternoon tea at Q club.

I prepped for playgroup morning tea, spoke to Phill around 9pm from his 1 star hotel in Newman before heading to bed.

Quote of the Day

Mummy: “Where did you get that?”

Emily: “Melbourne” (she’s never been to Melbourne!)

Week in the Life: Day 2 #weekinthelife

Emily slept in this morning and ate breakfast with Daddy. Emily was not feeling too well and spent most of the morning on the couch watching television. Dumbo is quite a favourite since Aunty Skib brought her back the soft toy from the US.
I did some work on an upcoming guest blog post and prepped for Christmas in July at lunch time we heard our Kalgoorlie house finally had an offer put on it. After some negotiation we were thrilled with the outcome! Our house is under offer!
We have a celebratory dinner and enjoyed our last evening with Phill at home this week.

Week in the Life: Day 1 #weekinthelife

I started a day early – on Sunday, since I like Sunday to be the first day of the week, plus Phill will be gone for several days this week and I wanted to include him in the photos. I was so excited to get going!

Sunday was a slow day as we’d been out late and Emily as a cold. But we all loved sitting in the sun

The Todd Shot - Ian style

After listening to the Digi Show: Katie's Little Sweatshop and reading all the Todd shot comments - I had to share the only photo of the food at our wedding. I think Ian did a pretty good Todd shot! :)

Don't understand the Todd Shot, Peppermint explains.

Do you have a fun family photo tradition? Sadly the only one I see around here is sticking your tongue out at the camera, not so creative!

Love the Digi Show!

Tips for Week in the Life

I'm putting together my Week in the Life album right now.
I’m using this outline of what to do from Ali:
Want to go more digi? Check out Jen’s digital tips for week in the life.
I’ve recently realised that square photo spots in templates don’t work for me, so I’ve shopping my stash to find some  with more traditional shape photos. I’m planning for4-6 photos a day. Honestly, I can’t see myself taking lots of photos this week – but let’s just see how we go! I’ll be back with the templates in another post soon!
I’ve not yet decided on which kit to use, but I’m thinking of going with one of the huge collab kits available for the Digi Game subscribers.

Daddy Away: Scrapbook page

The Log your Memory Week #29 Challenge was to take a look at your vacation from a different angle.

A bit of a different take on the time while Phill was unexpectedly sent to Argentina for a couple of weeks. It was 4 days notice, so not long to prepare an 18 month old for time away from her beloved Daddy. We did have lots of fun together in the shade of the fig tree at the bottom of the garden. These are photos from those days.

Emily and Mummy were blessed to have some time together alone, while Daddy was in Argentina. Emily asked me to take photos for Daddy.
