Update on my scrapping

I was writing this post for the mgl scraps creative team blog, and thought you might be interested in how my photobooks are going.

Year in Review

The year in review album for 2009 is slowly getting there. I'm up to April and aiming to finish 1 month per month.

Keeping it simple with Dreams in Colour 2.0 {The Red Kit} by Studio mgl @ Scrapbookgraphics and Jessica Sprague Year In Review Template. I'm planning to add dates to the photos before printing, assuming I have the time & inclination.

Want to see more? January 1 & 2, February 1 & 2, March 1 & 2

Baby's First Year

For my baby's album I've been using quickpages for the first few months, from Flerg's Flairy Floss kit. This month I used a cluster and extra frame. Keeping it simple. Emily is coming up to 10 months in April, so I'm hoping to get months 8 & 9 done soon.

Our little star

I was scrapping this page from August and I can’t believe how much Emily’s grown and changed over spring and summer.

Every kit that we work on at Songbird Avenue is special, and this kit is no exception. We are thrilled to present "Light the Night", a digital scrapbooking kit for the benefit of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. All proceeds from February will be donated to Doctors Without Borders. Created with love by Kellie Mize, The Queen of Quirk, Meredith Fenwick, Janet Phillips and Amy Wolff.

Hannah has Hope

Meet Hannah, an inspiring friend of mine, who is about to spend the rest of the year in Cambodia. As I was scrapping with this month's Songbird Avenue kit, it inspired me to think of Hannah, and we on the creative team would love to let you know about her.

Why would a 24 year old, artist, chaplain and surf rat farewell the golden sands of Australia for the steaming jungles of Cambodia?

Because Hannah has hope.  She hopes young girls who have been sexually abused and exploited can be healed and empowered.  She hopes that one person really can make a difference.  She hopes that strangers around the world will help support her.

Armed with a camera, laptop, a passion for social justice and a reckless sense of adventure, Hannah invites you to come along for the ride…

Here are some ways you can help Hannah throughout 2010:

  • Put your hands together and pray– click here for latest prayer requests.
  • Become Hannah’s pen friend – or ‘e-friend’ to be more accurate.  Email her encouragement, brownie recipes, amusing jokes and pictures of the ocean.  Ask Hannah to put you on her mailing list and stay updated on her adventures.
  • Party with Hannah and her friends – come to a fundraising event before Hannah leaves and to the fabulous festivities that are to come throughout the year. Here's the latest event!
  • Buy some art– your friends will think you’re cool.  All proceeds from the sale of Hannah’s art will go towards her living expenses and supplies. Click here to see what’s on sale now.
  • Make a donation– Hannah's paypal link is on her site.

I'm so in awe of what Hannah's doing and hope that you feel inspired to scrap a little about the amazing people in your life!

Scrapping Resolutions

Are you thinking about your scrapping aims for 2010?

My words for the year (yeah, I couldn’t get it down to 1) are simplify and complete. In my scrapping that means I’ll be aiming for simplicity in my pages, stash organisation and completed albums. Last year I printed this one – check it out!

Let me know if you have any scrapping resolutions this year :)

If you like the idea of a year in review album there’s some free templates from Jessica Sprague here and some ideas at the Daily Digi
