You are never too late! Memory Logbook 2012

Think it's too late to start recording your memories for 2012?
Never! Last year I didn't get to start my logbook till late January and I still love 2011's Logbook and all the stories I recorded!

In an aim to simplify my life in 2010, I decided to combine my scrapping ideas, monthly round-up, diary and journal into one and so the Memory Logbook got put on my wishlist for Christmas 2009. My husband bought the printable version for me and it sits on my desk. After 18 months later, I’m using the new half-year printed version, and still loving it! I’m planning events on the notes pages, smashing bits and pieces of receipts, business cards –writing my monthly summaries for a quick and simple overview of our year, events and snippets of life for future journalling and being inspired by the weekly challenges. I created a whole scrapbook album in 5 weeks using my Memory Logbook to prompt the journalling and help me find photos.

For 2011, I printed my own copy from the downloadable version and created my own cover and dividers.

I'm a big fan of the Memory Logbook having used is for the last two years, and this year I'm on the design team! The 2012 edition is more streamlined than ever and I've already started recording my memories in there!
Here’s my video review of the Logbook and Challenge Book

Memory Logbook Arrived!!

SANYO DIGITAL CAMERA SANYO DIGITAL CAMERA

A couple of weeks ago my Log Your Memory January-June Print Edition arrived – it seems to have taken 2 months wandering aimlessly around the world!

2011-01-13_LYM-2011_0001_thumbAnyway I said goodbye to my pretty home made book and I’m tossing up what to do with the January pages. Perhaps I’ll just tear them out and staple them into the other book? Then I can reuse the cover for something else.

In the mean time I’m using my Logbook to note my hours for work (now the my uni tutoring has started again), time specific to dos, meal planner and daily diary/organiser.

While I’m on the topic, I just received an email about the latest product from Log Your Memory. 2010 Real Life Scrapbooking Yearbook

2010 Real Life Scrapbooking YearbookLog Your Memory's first Yearbook, including 365 layouts selected from our gallery during 2010 - one for every day of the year!

Layouts featured each month were chosen for their design as well as their ability to capture everyday, real life during that particular time of year. Also includes personal information and a larger-size layout from our Featured Artist each month, picked by the Log Your Memory community!

The 2010 Yearbook includes...

  • Monthly Sections - Tabbed divider pages (print edition only), followed by a quick reference page at the beginning of each month showing a numbered, mini version of every layout featured that month.
  • Monthly Featured Artists - Get to know our monthly Featured Artists, including a photo of the artist and a nearly full-size look at their chosen layout, as well the artist's favourite product designers, subjects to scrapbook and reasons for why they choose to scrap their everyday, real life.
  • Full-Colour Layouts - Every one of the 365 layouts featured in the Yearbook is in full-colour! These images are linked in the PDF edition to the original full-size layouts in our gallery.
  • Monthly Scrapbooking Ideas - A handful of ideas every month for scrapping your everyday, real life, gleaned from the layouts featured that month.
  • Layout Credits - A complete supply list for each layout featured.
  • Artist Index - Find all of the layouts featured by your favourite artists with this handy reference at the back of the book.

My Memory Logbook

2011 Memory Logbook2011 Memory Logbook
Thanks to Kristin from Log Your Memory, I’ve now got my hands on the downloadable edition of the Memory Logbook. I’ve printed the calendars and the pages for January and February. I’m keeping it nice and slim to fit into my purse easily.
Supplies I used for this project:
I’ve linked to similar products as many of the items in my stash are no longer available.
SANYO DIGITAL CAMERA I decorated the cover with some glittery leaves and a large fabric flower and some rubons for the date, simple and pretty. I inked the edges of the cover with walnut stain distress ink.
SANYO DIGITAL CAMERA To create the bookmark I cut off a bit of one of those advertising fridge magnet and stuck them on a stripe of cardstock. I then layered the flower and secured it with a brad. Simple and a pretty way to keep my page.
I bound it with my Bind-it-all (yes you’ll see heaps of Zutter projects this year!
Just doing a little something to make it special is well worth the time I invested, especially when it will be used every day!

Are you Logging your Memory in 2011?

Memory LogbookThanks to the wonders of the postal system here in Australia I’m still scrawling in the back of my 2010 edition as I await my Log Your Memory January-June Print Edition.

After many years using Outlook and my PDA, I wasn’t sure if the Memory Logbook would work for me. But when Emily was little, it was great for jotting down all those note about feeding, sleeping and any little things she has been doing. In 2010 it sat on my desk, but the 2011 edition is much smaller and lighter, so I imagine I’ll take it out and about with me more this year. In 2010 I’ve been using my Memory Logbook for everything from a food diary, a sleep diary for my little girl and a day planner. Some days I journal in it, some days I list Emily’s new words, some days I just record the weather, or whatever takes my fancy really. It’s been invaluable for my December Daily project.

After seeing Stephanie’s Logbook cover I can’t wait to create something similar for my own when it arrives!

For those of you who are more tech savvy, there’s a great post about using the downloadable edition with your iPad.

Do you want to get started immediately with a downloadable logbook? If so I’ve got a 15% off coupon for you below – and could grab the Memory Logbook 2011: January to June Download right now for only $12.70 and start documenting your daily life and perhaps trigger ideas for memories, feelings, beliefs and experiences you might not otherwise think to document. The book can be used as a place to store information for later scrapbooking or it could easily be your sole source of memory-keeping, similar to a journal.

What sort of diary are you using in 2011? Online, paper or a combination?

Logging my memories

In an aim to simplify my life in 2010, I decided to combine my scrapping ideas, monthly round-up, diary and journal into one and so the Memory Logbook got put on my wishlist for Christmas 2009. My DH bought the printable version for me and it sits on my desk. After 11 months, I'm still using it, which is a ringing endorsement! I'm jotting down info about my baby's routine, events and snippets of life for future journalling and being inspired by the weekly challenges. Want to know more?
Annual & Monthly Themes – New this year, the entire Memory Logbook is based on one unifying theme: This Is My Life. Monthly themes will tie in with this “all about me” focus, including the Weekly Challenges, completely updated monthly photo prompts and new this year, an inspirational quote for each month.
52 Brand New Weekly Challenges – A theme-related challenge for every week in 2011 in one of six formats … Journaling Challenge, Copycat Challenge, One Word Challenge, Real Life Challenge, Picture Perfect Challenge, or Reflection Challenge.
52 Sample Layouts – This year’s edition includes a sample layout for every single Weekly Challenge. While last year’s book included primarily layouts created by yours truly, this year we are very fortunate to be able to feature the work of 28 other very talented contributing artists! You will find the list of these fabulous scrapbookers below. Additionally, a new design has resulted in a larger image size for our sample layouts to better enable you to truly appreciate these inspiring works of art.
Cleaner, More Streamlined Design - Thanks to all of the wonderful feedback received from last year’s Memory Logbook owners, this year’s design has a more simple, modern look. Reorganized content and a more modular design also allow for greater compatibility with existing planners, which means it will be easier to pick and choose your favorite sections from the Memory Logbook and incorporate them into your favorite planning system.
Lots of Options - The new line includes two sizes (5.5×8.5 and 8.5×11) as well as multiple formats (full-year, half-year, downloadable PDF, coil-bound, perfect-bound, wall calendar, etc.), which means there really is something for everyone. Even more options will be added soon, including a non-holiday version, challenges-only book, monthly editions, add-on individual pages and even a build-your-own Memory Logbook option!
A sneak peek at the introductory section of the Memory Logbook 2011
I thought I'd let you all know about the community too, it's full of paper and digi scrappers from all over the world! A fun place to hang out.
