Emily, we had to wait for Daddy to get home from work before you could open your presents and have your cake. We got you all bathed and ready for bed just in time for Daddy to get home. You opened up your present from Daddy and Mummy - a new swing - had a play outside with the lights on, then had your birthday cake and ate it too!

I also used two other templates from Erin Ink to finally complete Emily’s album.

Get Your Digi Game On

The Daily Digi

I’ve been on the Daily Digi creative team for a few months now and have been able to play with the goodies and promote the site around digi-land, so I thought it was about time I shared my bio from the site here.

MEET MELISSA S.

BIO: I’ve been digiscrapping since October 2007, after discovering IkeaGoddess from reading the journaling on a layout in Scrapbook Memories Australia! My dear husband and little girl who’s just one feature in many layouts, along with recording memories of our homes (2 so far!) and the many renovations my DH did!

I am currently head CT for mgl scraps and love working with a great bunch of girls over on the mgl Creative Team blog. I also CT forSongbird Avenue.

Scrapping gives me a way to record all the little stories in my life and I love the creative side too!

5 PRODUCTS I CAN’T LIVE WITHOUT:

1. Actions from Wendyzine -  I love her Scrap It actions, her photobook and single page actions and well everything in her whole store.

2. Frames – I love to use frames for my photos, or at minimum a white border.

3. Solid background papers (love Flergs and mgl Scraps).

4. Fonts! Especially Fontologie and my own handwriting font to give that personal touch to my layouts.

5. My Wacom bamboo pen and touch.

MY STYLE: Slightly shabby, with a bit of clustering thrown in. I tend to change my style to suit the page I’m scrapping, and hope to be learning and growing techniques all the time.

MY SCRAPPING IDOL(S): Bec – her photography, designs and oh her shadows too are amazing! Ali Edwards – is also a big inspiration to my with her philosophy and simple approach.

WHY I AM EXCITED TO BE ON THE TEAM: I love TDD and have read every post since they started. I was so excited when Steph asked me to join the team. I really enjoy promoting TDD around the web, I can share the knowledge we’ve all gained to help other scrappers all over the world. I love discovering fresh new designers through the Digi Files too! This site is second to none and a must read every day!

Update on my scrapping

I was writing this post for the mgl scraps creative team blog, and thought you might be interested in how my photobooks are going.

Year in Review

The year in review album for 2009 is slowly getting there. I'm up to April and aiming to finish 1 month per month.

Keeping it simple with Dreams in Colour 2.0 {The Red Kit} by Studio mgl @ Scrapbookgraphics and Jessica Sprague Year In Review Template. I'm planning to add dates to the photos before printing, assuming I have the time & inclination.

Want to see more? January 1 & 2, February 1 & 2, March 1 & 2

Baby's First Year

For my baby's album I've been using quickpages for the first few months, from Flerg's Flairy Floss kit. This month I used a cluster and extra frame. Keeping it simple. Emily is coming up to 10 months in April, so I'm hoping to get months 8 & 9 done soon.

Our little star

I was scrapping this page from August and I can’t believe how much Emily’s grown and changed over spring and summer.

We are thrilled to present "Light the Night", a digital scrapbooking kit for the benefit of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. All proceeds from February will be donated to Doctors Without Borders. Hannah has Hope

Meet Hannah, an inspiring friend of mine, who is about to spend the rest of the year in Cambodia. As I was scrapping with this month's Songbird Avenue kit, it inspired me to think of Hannah, and we on the creative team would love to let you know about her.

Why would a 24 year old, artist, chaplain and surf rat farewell the golden sands of Australia for the steaming jungles of Cambodia?

Because Hannah has hope.  She hopes young girls who have been sexually abused and exploited can be healed and empowered.  She hopes that one person really can make a difference.  She hopes that strangers around the world will help support her.

Armed with a camera, laptop, a passion for social justice and a reckless sense of adventure, Hannah invites you to come along for the ride…

Here are some ways you can help Hannah throughout 2010:

  • Put your hands together and pray– click here for latest prayer requests.
  • Become Hannah’s pen friend – or ‘e-friend’ to be more accurate.  Email her encouragement, brownie recipes, amusing jokes and pictures of the ocean.  Ask Hannah to put you on her mailing list and stay updated on her adventures.
  • Party with Hannah and her friends – come to a fundraising event before Hannah leaves and to the fabulous festivities that are to come throughout the year. Here's the latest event!
  • Buy some art– your friends will think you’re cool.  All proceeds from the sale of Hannah’s art will go towards her living expenses and supplies. Click here to see what’s on sale now.
  • Make a donation– Hannah's paypal link is on her site.

I'm so in awe of what Hannah's doing and hope that you feel inspired to scrap a little about the amazing people in your life!
