This month the theme is:
Pay Attention
Image by mshanhun via FlickrAttention is such a precious thing, I'm in the early stages of pregnancy and find it a lot harder than usual to focus on others. Whether it's due to morning sickness, tiredness, hormones, or just my easily disctractable nature, I just find my mind wandering.
I've been using tools to help me pay attention, so that means using my Memory Logbook, and journals to jot down details; lists, my whiteboard and reminders on my computer of things that may slip my mind; and overall mindful attitude to be sure to be paying attention to my increased energy and sleep needs.
I've been paying attention to the little details even though a website launch, university tutoring and life in general can always distract me from the bigger picture. My family deserves to have my undivided attention!
Even though I've only scrapped about 5-6 pages in the last couple of months, I've taken the time to pay attention to the little details of our daily life and I've been blogging at the kitchen table while Emily watches her favourite TV programs. Here's a sampling of my recent posts with this in mind:
I am the only one who can choose where my attention goes and today I am grateful to have this reminder.
How has paying attention brought you happiness lately?

I would argue that being pregnant by default means you are taking care of your family and giving them your undivided attention. Just by taking care of yourself, you are taking care of the newest member who will bring amazing blessings to everyone in the entire family. Now, have a seat, put your feet up and relax!
Congratulations!
I think it is great that you are using the blog as a memory-keeper for future scrapping (or just memories).Nice post. :)
I love your comment that only you can determine where your attention goes. How true! I feel that paying attention leads to gratitude. So many of the little things in life are missed when we're not paying attention to what is going on around us.
Thanks Margie! My feet are up as we speak! :)
Thanks Kimberlee - we are excited!
Great post! Love that you are using your blog to capture some of the details you might otherwise forget.
I found it hard to pay attention when I was pregnant, and thanks for sharing so many great ideas!
Yes, pregnancy can definitely be a distraction. Sounds like you have some good strategies though, to record your stories even if you aren't able to get as much scrabpooking done. Thanks for participating!
