Townsville, Gardening and Life

We had a wonderful time away in Townsville for 2 weeks, caught up with the family for meals, visited Grandad, hung out with Kath (including a decadent dessert and movies with Phill's sister Kath, snorkelled on the Barrier Reef and saw a turtle!!! We stopped over in Sydney for the day on the way back and looked around the harbour and went up the tower (no I was not brave enough to do the Skywalk!!). It’s a bit of a shock to the system to be back in the cold now.

Dan and Amberley have just moved to Melbourne (yesterday) for a year and we got to catch up with them and the extended family on Sat night. Sarah our cousin is also over from Wagga, so it was a great night.

Phill’s mum and dad’s house is being demolished in the next couple of months so we grafittied (is that a word?) on it before we left. They are building a 2 storey house (but only a 3x2 as they want to preserve the big backyard) on the same land  and renting in East Freo for the next year or so. The old place was built for 2nd world war returned soldiers and had been extended over the years. Can’t remember if I’d told you about this or not!

We drove back on Monday and it rained for about 5 out of the 6.5 hrs. Light, but enough to mean you can’t see anything if you get stuck behind a truck. Anyhow we got home safely. Phill's dad came for out for work from Tues-Fri, so that was nice.

Phill’s work shutdown had been moved from Feb 09 to starting last week due to various so he will be likely to be working a few more hours in the next 4 months.

We've basically finished the front garden now and there are photos up on Picasa if you want to check it out!

I've been helping raise sponsorship for the Quiz night Next Level (young adults) are running this Sunday night at KBC. Will be fun!
