Cute and simple baby card

A quick baby card I put together with Emily for our cousins.

I just popped some handmade paper over a gingham background, found a matching ribbon from my stash and mounted an epoxy sticker on some white high gloss card.
Rounded the corners and popped in the mail!

Simple and fun for Mumm and Emily to do together!Get Your Digi Game On

Christmas in July: Sneak Peek

SANYO DIGITAL CAMERA I'm currently planning an awesome crafty event in Perth to help us all get a head start on Christmas.

We’ll spend a couple of hours getting a head start on any Christmas Crafting projects (cards/decorations/etc) that usually get buried during the Christmas Season.
Bring along your half finished Christmassy projects (I've got an advent calendar to complete) and enjoy an hour or two of crafting with friends.
SANYO DIGITAL CAMERA I’ll be providing come Christmas treats, and a goodie bag with all you need to create a couple of fun Christmas cards in just a few minutes!
We'll have sewing, calligraphy, and papercrafting set up, plus some inspirational magazines and completed projects. I’ll have some tools and supplies on hand for paper crafting, but feel free to bring along your supplies and tools.
Not feeling Christmassy yet? Then you are welcome to bring along anything crafty, such as your latest sewing project, UFOs (unfinished objects), scrapbook pages etc to work on.
And what if you are a digital scrapbooker? You can bring along your laptop and play too!
For more info, check out the facebook event here: Christmas in July Crafting Party

New52 Crafting out and about

A few months ago I found this Craft meetup group in Perth and I finally got to go to the May meetup.
I really enjoyed meeting up with four other crafty women, who were knitting, crocheting and smocking, and of course chatting. I managed to use my Martha Stewart train punch, a few felt stickers and card stock to create a few cards while I was there. Emily came along and had a great time playing with the other toddlers.SANY0225
I’ve missed the occasional crafting group I used to host in Kalgoorlie, it was fun to meet some new faces. I'm going to host the Meetup with Scarborough Crafts at my place in July – want to come?
Do you meet up with fellow hobbyists on a regular basis? It can be fun to meet new people and expand your skills! I’ve just started hosting digital scrapbooking workshops in Perth, with another one coming up on the 13th of June.

20+ weeks into the year I’m still going strong with the New 52 challenge, thanks for running it Peppermint & Christine! I’m finding that looking out for new experiences is helping me appreciate that my life even more. Read more New 52 posts:

Blue and Green should never be seen…

color comboWelcome to the Color Combo Blog Hop!
If you arrived from Digi Page blog you are in the right place! If you are here and didn’t come from the previous blog, I am listing the hop below my post so you can go start back at the beginning if you wish.
We were all challenged to come up with a crafty project using the colour scheme on the left, from Inspired Bride. Stylish!
2010 07 09_Sarah and Joel Wedding_0003

Card 1

Today I’m going along with the wedding theme and highlighting a card I made for a couple of weddings with this basic colour scheme. I used the card technique from Jessica Sprague’s Computer Tricks for Cards class I took last year.
So I didn’t manage to sneak the mustard in there, but I think the scheme is near enough!
The first card I made by the book. Using a dry brushing and bubble wrap plastic effect in pale blue then printing on the flower design and adding the embellishments. I used teal vellum, rather than coloured cardstock.  I also only had narrow ribbon so I took two the light green ones and laid them side by side, then layered the deep teal one over the middle.

Card 2

SANYO DIGITAL CAMERA Rather than using paint, for the second version I used a deep teal ink over an embossed cardstock. I also only had narrow ribbon (again!) so I took two deep green ones and laid them side by side, then layered the lighter brown one over the edges.
Again I laid paper (brown mulberry paper) over the white cardstock card.
This time I used a stamp and handwrote the couples’ initials on the accent piece.
Which card do you prefer?

Happy Hopping!!

If you want to follow along here's a link to some equivalent products. As I make cards from my stash, quite a lot of items are discontinued.

My Memory Logbook

2011 Memory Logbook2011 Memory Logbook
Thanks to Kristin from Log Your Memory, I’ve now got my hands on the downloadable edition of the Memory Logbook. I’ve printed the calendars and the pages for January and February. I’m keeping it nice and slim to fit into my purse easily.
Supplies I used for this project:
I’ve linked to similar products as many of the items in my stash are no longer available.
SANYO DIGITAL CAMERA I decorated the cover with some glittery leaves and a large fabric flower and some rubons for the date, simple and pretty. I inked the edges of the cover with walnut stain distress ink.
SANYO DIGITAL CAMERA To create the bookmark I cut off a bit of one of those advertising fridge magnet and stuck them on a stripe of cardstock. I then layered the flower and secured it with a brad. Simple and a pretty way to keep my page.
I bound it with my Bind-it-all (yes you’ll see heaps of Zutter projects this year!
Just doing a little something to make it special is well worth the time I invested, especially when it will be used every day!

My latest scrapbooking haul

2010 12 30_Spotlight haul_0001I love a great deal and Spotlight has been very generously discounting a lot before Christmas. I’d videoed (very unprofessionally I might add!) my purchases, then ScrappyJedi inspired me to finally post them all on my blog.
I received some Martha Stewart Glitter for Christmas – so excited! So I got the glitter stickers to use with that for free, 50c and $1!
All 1/2 stickered priceI got some Fiskars and Heidi Grace stamps to add to my collection, ranging from $1.50 up to $7 for the priciest set – and a few stickers. The Fiskars Stamp Press Phill picked up for $2 (usually $15) ! I got some awesome deals on Zutter items too, everything shown cost me 50c or $1 Australian. Even the Zutter corner rounders which are usually $20 each were only $1!

All 50c each!Oh yes, there’s a lot there, but the cute 7.5x5” tabbed dividers are already part of my One Little Word album for 2011.
If you’d like to see more, here are the videos.

Have you got yourself a good deal lately? I’d love to see!

Make your own 2011 Calendar–simple and stylish

Looking for a calendar to get ready in time for the new year?
There’s an awesome CD calendar over at OScraps by Biograffiti.
biograffiti_cd2011_prev
If you print with Persnickety Prints they’ll even throw in a CD jewel case for free!

I ended up creating some custom calendars for my relatives, with pictures from 2009 and supplies from the Digi Game in 2010, I printed them at home on our printer as I was trying to get them ready for Christmas! After a little trimming and fiddling around with preview on my parents iMac, I printed them all. I then trimmed them to fit some CD cases in my craft tote which I bought for this very purpose a couple of years ago.
biograffiti_cd201102_feb_600Lauren biograffiti_cd201106_jun_600
125The calendars were very well received and when I hear we were having a couple of extra visitors on Christmas day it was fairly simple to swap out a few photos and print off a couple more gifts.

Are creating your own calendars for 2011?  Why not link me up to yours?
