December Down Under: Day 14

IMG_2857.JPG

I’m just writing on my foundation pages and will be ordering prints later in the month and assembling it all together later. My secret weapon? Tags in kraft and white for my journalling and washi tape so I can move it all around. Thanks to Simple Scrapper for the kit!

I’m also cutting my December Daily word art on the Cameo and adding that in.

Created with Admarket's flickrSLiDR.

Thankful for Phill: 30 Days of Thankful

IMG_2329Sitting at my new study desk with my new shelves behind me, hearing the coffee maker running, reminds me of how much Phill does for me every single day. I love you!

Daddy is an Engineer

Phill headed down to Kwinana today for some testing and Emily was intrigued as to what he was doing.

I explained that Daddy was helping them check to see if the big machines worked.
"What are they for?"
"For digging up things out of the ground, like metal, to make things out of."
"I know they can dig something out of the ground!"
"What will they dig up?"
"Some worms!"

My Day in Photos Explained

Many of you were interested in a little more about this day…

Emily cleaning bunny’s ears with the Audiclean
Daddy and Emily eating pears – Daddy taught Emily how to cross her legs
Emily inspecting the new lounge suite. Yes, Phill and I finally both liked the same one – and once I got over the fact it’s leather and very pale cream, I’m loving it and the adjustable head rests!
After about two weeks without uploading my Nike+ I made it to green level with 15kms uploaded on one day! Smile
Emily fast asleep in her “new bed” we had the new sheets but the bed came out of storage a few days later.

New 52–Souvenirs

Daddy and EmilyOnly about two months ago (how time flies!?!) Phill brought us a back a couple of souvenirs From Argentina and Chile. Mine was a small, tooled-leather box from Mendoza, a city nearby to the Gold mine. I also got an alpaca wool scarf, in PINK of course.
Daddy leavingSANYO DIGITAL CAMERA Emily’s gifts were a giraffe puzzle with a baby giraffe (cute!) and her ‘Argentina hat’ – a bright pink beanie with an alpaca and other animals and things stitched on it!

Emily’s had a hard time working out that Daddy isn’t going away every time he leaves for work. She stopped asking to see Daddy on ‘puter (Skype) a couple of weeks ago. This morning for the first time since Phill has been away she told me “Daddy, gone! Work, big bus” rather than “Daddy, gone! ‘Tina!” Such a relief that she’s finally getting her head around the fact that Daddy is back to stay.Emily's souvenirs
Learn more about the New 52 challenge here. I’m finding that looking out for new experiences is helping me appreciate that my life is full of variety. What new things have you tried this week?

14 December 2010–Phill’s birthday

I’m still not quite used to the Christmas/birthday season around here. It makes for some busy days!
We celebrated Phill’s birthday with the traditional steak diane thanks to Mum S and I made the ever popular strawberry hazelnut gateau. In the afternoon I’d had the brilliant idea to made dinner rolls using the breadmaker and they were very popular. Les (and Asha) and Steve joined us to celebrate! Phill’s presents were a hit all round with Bunnings vouchers, flying monkey (which has been adopted by Emily and the sibling’s Lego Starwars Wii game, shirts and more. Emily had a late sleep so was able to stay up for the 7pm dinner but wasn’t too sure about the sparklers.
