Almost 9 months

During your 8th month you…

Became a speedy crawler

Said mum a couple of times

Can make a fishy sound

Started attempting to wave

Can pull yourself up to stand, and then often fall because to try to walk off or grab something.

Are keen to eat a variety of foods each day – especially if you can feed yourself.

Find Emily absolutely hilarious, and won’t even feed if she comes in to check on you when you wake up.

Love playing with (or poking and prodding) other children (especially babies). You loved looking at the photo of a baby on your Christmas present box, and even brought Humpty over to tell him all about the baby too.

LOVE chips, lasagne, milk arrowroots (or any biscuits really!) and bananas.

Weighed 9.2kg and were 75cm long.

December Down Under Day 19

Today we did 2 Truth in the Tinsel ornaments (peg dolls of Mary and Joseph) while Edward slept
We got our dishwasher fixed YAY!
Edward was keen to watch while eating lunch

Edward and I played outside and cooked tea (well I cooked EJ ate 80% of a banana) while Emily slept.

We also had our photo canvases arrive how exciting!

I’m just writing on my foundation pages and will be ordering prints later in the month and assembling it all together later. My secret weapon? Tags in kraft and white for my journalling and washi tape so I can move it all around. Thanks to Simple Scrapper for the kit!
I’m also cutting my December Daily word art on the Cameo and adding that in.

December Down Under: Day 13

A few last minute birthday preparations for Phill’s 31st + craft + chasing a lost teddy + chiro + dead dishwasher = Exhausted!

Edward is loving the healthy mini Christmas cakes from Baby Tastes and is now sitting up so well.

I managed to make 90% of 4 cards at craft and get there about 45mins after I remembered about it! lol

I’ve been struggling with the days, and it doesn’t help that my old Outlook daylight savings birthdays are still in my new phone to scare me that I’ve missed a birthday. I just need to tell my brain to hit reset. Getting used to having full night’s sleep again isn’t as easy as one might think!

December Down Under: Day 4

Today we did a little Truth in the Tinsel, a lot of card making and generally has a quiet day activity wise. But we did pick up our newly edged carpet playmat.

Emily: Edward would you like teddy? (Tiny teddy)
Mummy: They are too small for him
Emily: Gives him a milk arrrowroot instead! Which I only discovered after finding the halft eaten on in his chubby hands!

Edward finds it hard to understand he must take one thing out of his mouth to put the other thing in
Edward is getting up onto his knees LOTS now, enjoys dropping toys from his highchair and tossing them about on the floor, but sitting not so much.

Our Home: 30 Days of Thankful

I’m so thankful for the lovely space we have for Emily (and Edward) to run and play – even though is was rainy most of the day – we still managed a picnic.

You at 6 months

Just learnt to blow raspberries

Can roll onto, but not off your tummy

Have worked out your cot is quite fun to play in

Love to see who is talking

Don’t like Mummy eating or drinking while you are feeding

Are 8.6kg and bigger than Emily at 1 year!

Love getting your hair brushed

Are a little cautious when visitors first arrive

Try to crawl by swinging arms and legs (it looks like swimming)

Are happy and love to laugh at Emily’s escapades

Cold porridge, cold tea, warm heart

Some amazing things that happen when you become a mum.
Somehow all the important things have to wait, and you can learn to survive, and even thrive, without them.
You may never actually finish a cup of tea in one sitting and it's a very rare to actually eat meal while it's hot.

I saw this dedication in my own Mum, but now I have my own children, I too love watching and playing, learning and creating with them.

...And I'm thankful for the microwave

Emily and Edward it is a blessing to spend each day with you.

You at almost 5 months

Giggle a few times a day

Love your grow chart and look at it every time I close the curtains

Love to look and see what Emily is up to whenever you hear her

Love your solids (banana and pear so far)

Tremble with excitement to drink water out of your sippy cup

Reach and move around on your back

Can’t quite roll, and get a bit upset if you can’t work out how to get off your tummy when you are getting tired

Have a very squeaky ‘frustrated’ cry

Think that the TV is fascinating

Sleep through to about 6am most days (thankyou!)

Are 8kg and on the 75% for weight and height

Have blond hair, with ‘volume’ but no curls as yet

Are loved

So I was a bit late on Ella's Take 12. On the 12th of each month I stop and take (hopefully 12) photos of our daily life. I ended up taking these photos on the 13th, but who’s counting?

Digital Scrapbooking: My baby boy and my little girl

Emily at her first show

Daddy was excited to take Emily to her first Royal Show on the  5th of October 2011. Mummy was a bit disappointed she couldn’t come, as she was expecting Nano and had morning sickness.
Heading off on the train, Emily could hardly contain her excitement and kept breaking into big smiles every few minutes.
Emily was very brave and patted all manner of animals, she and Daddy liked the furry donkeys and the house of the three little pigs.
Of course no trip to the show would be complete without watching the Wood Choppers in action.
There was just a little time for a ride on the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle ride (who knew they were still around?) and then some blue icecream before the trip home.

Introducing Edward #weekinthelife

We are excited to share that Edward James Shanhun was born at 5:29am today.
3.43 kg (7lb 9oz) 52 cm long. Everyone is doing well.
