August’s prompt was to take a photo of yourself and add some affirming words. To simply take a breath.
I’ve taken an video of my book to date – it’s coming along well! You can see I used the picture above along with some patterned paper and affirming words.

Welcome to to my stop on the One Little Word blog hop for August. If you’ve come from Lynn’s blog welcome! The full list of blogs is at the end of this post.

bullfrogs and butterflies originalJuly’s prompt was music. I’ve heard lots of children’s music this month. Of course Emily loves it, and I don’t mind singing along to Bullfrogs and Butterflies. I guess they fit well with my word also! Growing and changing!

I also bought God is able from iTunes, but haven’t made it past the first few songs yet!
Hillsong-LIVE-God-Is-Able-cover-art

For my album I chose to highlight one song – Doin it Doin it – Emily’s favourite.

Lyrics

There’s a bumble bee, a honey bee
Gettin’ the honey for you and me

Doin’ it doin’ it – doin’ it doin’ it
Buzzing around – helping the garden grow

There’s a little worm diggin’ around
Eatin’ dirt from out of the ground

Doin’ it doin’ it – doin’ it doin’ it
Little worm – helping the garden grow

Up in the sky there’s a yellow sun Shining down on everyone

Doin’ it doin’ it – doin’ it doin’ it
Shine shine – making the garden grow

There’s a big fat cloud and a drop of rain
It’s falling down on the window pane

Doin’ it doin’ it – doin’ it doin’ it
Splish splosh – making the garden grow

Fly fly through the sky
Little bird drops a seed
The seed grows up into a tree
A green umbrella for you and me

Croaky frogs, cats and dogs
Creepy crawlies under a log

Doin’ it doin’ it – doin’ it doin’ it
All over the world – making the garden grow
Everybody – making the garden grow
You and me – making the garden grow

20110727 Week in the life Day 4 11-2
I just did a little bit of trick embossing – used card embossing folder on my 5x7 page and then lining it up as best I could and repeating it at 90 degrees to the first one. That way I got 80% of the page overed. I cut and embossed a scrap and added some lyrics. A very simpel take on this month’s prompt.

Supplies:

Cuttlebug A2 Embossing Folder, Stylized Flowers

5x7 Bind it all cream pages
Spellbinders Borderabilities
Spellbinders S4-239 Borderabilities Petite Classic Scalloped Border Die Template

I’m thrilled I’m keeping up with this – being accountable to sharing it in the hop really helps me keep my word front and centre.

This month I finished off my April pages, worked on May and June. I don't feel behind, but rather that the whole album is evolving over time.
My April note to self is now in a cute little folder. We now have a printer so the May pages are getting added to the album. As for June – I did one larger canvas rather than the smaller ones. I worked on it over the past 5 days (Some of which was done in the car!Sneaking some art in on the way to church!). I’m just going to have to work out how to get it into my album now! You’ll have to see that next month!

Art Journalling: June One Little Word Sneak Peek

After hearing Julie Fei-Fan Balzar on the Paperclipping Roundtable I’ve been thinking about getting back into some fine art. Then Ali Edwards prompt for One Little Word in June was all about colour, texture and art – so I had to try.

SANY0276

Here’s a sneak peek of my partially finished work using Derwent Metallic Pencils and Art Masking Fluid. I’m completing the rest of it today and will be posting more for the One Little Word Blog Hop on the 1st of July.

If you want to share your latest creations, link me up in the comments!

One Little Word June OLW Blog Hop

Xnomads' Blog 2011-01-11_One-little-word-cover_000[2]
Welcome to to my stop on the One Little Word blog hop. If you’ve come from Rebekah’s blog welcome! The full list of blogs is at the end of this post.
SANY0144For our April prompt, I took a photo of myself and I wrote a letter to my self, which is still sitting in the binder where I keep my class materials for all my Big Picture classes. I’ve just shared a snapshot of it a left.
In May we have been writing our to do list:
Fullscreen capture 27052011 44901 PM
This is still in digital form as we just moved house and have no printer! I’ll printed add it to the album later. I’ve gone fairly deep with the journalling this time – but I can share that growing a garden is on my list. We used to have such a lovely garden and now in our new home we are back to sand again!
Want to see my album? I’ve put together a few photos of my One Little Word album so far.

One Little Word April Self Portrait

April Self Portrait by mshanhun
April Self Portrait, a photo by mshanhun on Flickr.

So I tried a slightly more coppery based tone in my foils this time (and dyed the underneath), just to give me a little change, but without having to cut my slow growing hair much. Thanks Carlie for the great job you did - I love having my hair all done for my birthday!

Ali sends out monthly emails with a prompt for the month, and I’m working on my April one now. Did you know that the One Little Word class is still open? There are over 2000 people in the class and we’ve got heaps of good stuff going on in the forums! There’s even a specific forum for Growth related OLWs!

If you decide to register at Big Picture using my link and purchase Ali’s One Little Word class (or any of the others!), we'll both receive a code for 10% off** our next order. Of course you can always just sign up and select from one of the free classes.

I am blogging about my progress in the classes I’m working on over at Big Picture Classes – so stay tuned!

Are you working on any year long projects? Maybe this Paperclipping Roundtable Episode – Long Projects Chroncicled will give you some inspiration!

One Little Word–My album so far

2011-01-11_One-little-word-cover_000[2]I’ve just put together a few photos of my album so far.

I’ve been working on my One Little Word album – here’s my progress so far.

Created with Admarket's flickrSLiDR.

I am having so much fun doing ‘real’ paper scrapbooking, I’ve been inspired to make a few cards! I’ve been printing most things at actual size and then reshuffling the items to fit in my mini album.

For the embellishing, I’ve been keeping my album simple - I’ve been using Basic grey porcelain rubons and a couple of random flowers and brads I’ve found for this album. My little album is 7.5”x5” and created using my Bind-it-all – but for the time being I’ve just got two jump rings holding it together while I work on it.

Ali sends out monthly emails with a prompt for the month, and I’m working on my April one now. Did you know that the One Little Word class is still open? You still have plenty of time to catch up or why not just jump in with this month’s prompt?

If you decide to register at Big Picture using my link and purchase Ali’s One Little Word class (or any of the others!), we'll both receive a code for 10% off** our next order. Of course you can always just sign up and select from one of the free classes.

I am blogging about my progress in the classes I’m working on over at Big Picture. Are you taking any classes at the moment or perhaps you are playing along with Katie and creating your own curriculum?

One Little Word 2011–Grow

SANYO DIGITAL CAMERA After much thought about my One Little Word I’ve settled on grow.
The prompts in Ali EdwardsOne Little Word class for this month are focusing my thoughts on what this word means to me. By chosing this word I am inviting into my life change, maturity, wisdom, health and joy. I want to grow on the good foundations I’ve built into my life and change for the better this year.
I loved the thesaurus entry and I’m focusing on these aspects: flourish, abound. rise, develop, thrive, mature, sprout, take root, ripen, mellow, increase, gain strength, change.
SANYO DIGITAL CAMERA My little album is 7.5”x5” and created using my new Bind-it-all.
I used:
Most of the items I'm using are from my stash, so I've linked you up to similar items.
Are you documenting your resolutions or word for the year?
