Free Big Idea Festival from Big Picture Classes

I just had to share - join in the fun at Big Picture for their free Big Idea Festival I'm excited that Steph and Peppermint will be instructors. I can't wait for August 15th, I hope you can join in!
More details from BPC
Big Idea Festival! Words to Live By
You are invited to a FREE festival packed full of big ideas at Big Picture Classes this August! Join us for 12 fun-filled days featuring 12 of our talented instructors. Each instructor will be giving you a word of the day, which we hope will inspire you, along with a downloadable template (in both printable and digital format) so that you can create a mini layout about that day's word and how you applied it in your life. Finally, each teacher will leave you with an inspirational video message and a preview of the page they created with their word.
This is a wonderful opportunity to meet some of our teachers, experience their style and personalities, and take 12 days to be inspired and create a fun mini-album project...all for free.

Powerscrapping my birthday

I got my hands on a awesome freebie from Flergs – Dreaming of Spring via her newsletter and I just knew it would match the yellow and pink outfits I wore on my birthday.
Dreaming of Spring: THE KITThe main kit this freebie coordinates with is Dreaming of Spring

I based my two pages on one of Jen Lindsay’s templates from The Digi Game and added a few more photo spots to the right hand page.

To the technique I used to get the new photos to match the others - see my video tutorial on Copying layer styles.
Flairy Floss: BUNDLEI created the stitching by using an alpha tie from Flairy Floss by Flergs. Can you tell I love her stuff?
I just recoloured a stitched leaf to match and copied in my OhLife journal entry for the 7th of April.
It was so good to have my journal entry as it made step four of the Powerscrapping easy! Thanks Katie for the awesome workshop.

New52: 8 Gigs of RAM!

SANYO DIGITAL CAMERA Last week I headed over to PLE computers and helped myself to 8Gb of RAM for my aging Dell XPS 420.
Open up the case, install the RAM start it up and boom – press F5 to continue into the setup. Oh dear! Of course I had my trusty Microsoft Entertainment keyboard 7000 which is Bluetooth, and last time I checked my BIOS doesn’t support Bluetooth. Not to worry I’m cleaning out our stash of computer junk and there’s keyboard right here. Oh, it is PS2, so that won’t work. After climbing into the roof twice I realised I’d lent my keyboard to Lauren. Not to worry, I just rang Phill and got him to bring one home from work. Since out other Bluetooth keyboard already lives there the IT guy didn’t mind us taking one home!
In the mean time I switched of my PC and thought, hmm I wonder what will happen when I turn it back on again. Voila, Windows loads as if nothing has happened. Everything just runs a little speedier now Smile
I’m doing to reinstall the computer onto a new Samsung 2TB drive over the weekend – wish me luck! (This time I have the keyboard at the ready!). Oh and I only paid $14 more to buy it from the local shop than Amazon is selling it for!

Now we are past half way in the year I’m still going strong with the New 52 challenge, thanks for running it Peppermint & Christine! I’m finding that looking out for new experiences is helping me appreciate that my life even more. I have to say I have many more draft posts, just waiting for me to finish them! One Little Word July OLW blog hop

Xnomads' Blog
2011-01-11_One-little-word-cover_000[2]

Welcome to to my stop on the One Little Word blog hop. If you’ve come from Amanda’s blog welcome! The full list of blogs is at the end of this post.
Ali sends out monthly emails with a prompt for the month and you just complete it as you are inspired to throughout the month. Did you know that the One Little Word class is still open? You still have plenty of time to catch up or why not just jump in with this month’s prompt?
This month I finished off my April pages, worked on May and June. I don't feel behind, but rather that the whole album is evolving over time.
My April note to self is now in a cute little folder. We now have a printer so the May pages are getting added to the album. As for June – I did one larger canvas rather than the smaller ones. I worked on it over the past 5 days (Some of which was done in the car!Sneaking some art in on the way to church!). I’m just going to have to work out how to get it into my album now! You’ll have to see that next month!

Christmas in July: Sneak Peek

SANYO DIGITAL CAMERA I'm currently planning an awesome crafty event in Perth to help us all get a head start on Christmas.

We’ll spend a couple of hours getting a head start on any Christmas Crafting projects (cards/decorations/etc) that usually get buried during the Christmas Season.
Bring along your half finished Christmassy projects (I've got an advent calendar to complete) and enjoy an hour or two of crafting with friends.
SANYO DIGITAL CAMERA I’ll be providing come Christmas treats, and a goodie bag with all you need to create a couple of fun Christmas cards in just a few minutes!
We'll have sewing, calligraphy, and papercrafting set up, plus some inspirational magazines and completed projects. I’ll have some tools and supplies on hand for paper crafting, but feel free to bring along your supplies and tools.
Not feeling Christmassy yet? Then you are welcome to bring along anything crafty, such as your latest sewing project, UFOs (unfinished objects), scrapbook pages etc to work on.
And what if you are a digital scrapbooker? You can bring along your laptop and play too!
For more info, check out the facebook event here: Christmas in July Crafting Party
